Up the Ranks
Know the law well enough to tell the right answer from three that are nearly right.
Get it on Google Play App Store · coming soonAgainst the clock, at exam pace
Up the Ranks is revision for the NPPF Step Two legal exam, the 150-question, closed-book paper that stands between you and sergeant or inspector. More than 1,100 questions cover every chapter of the 2027 syllabus — Crime, Evidence and Procedure, and General Police Duties — each one written from primary law: Acts of Parliament, the PACE Codes of Practice, CPS charging guidance and Sentencing Council guidelines.
Get one wrong and it shows you which answer was right, why each of the other three is wrong, and the passage of law it turns on, word for word, with its citation. Practise against the clock at 72 seconds a question, the pace of the real paper, or one chapter at a time, untimed. It works out your weakest chapters from your own answers and keeps the questions you got wrong for another go.
Download it free and try 25 questions, with every explanation in full. One purchase unlocks the whole 2027 edition, for both papers and every 2027 sitting. No subscription, no account, no adverts, and it works offline.
Up the Ranks is independent and unofficial. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the College of Policing, Oxford University Press or any police force. It covers the law of England and Wales, as the exam does.
