Revision for the ACS gas assessments, CCN1 and CENWAT: 659 questions, each with the regulation or clause behind it. Out now on iPhone, iPad and Android.

Zero Drop is out on the App Store and Google Play. It is revision for the ACS gas assessments, the theory papers UK gas engineers sit for the certificates of competence that put them on the Gas Safe Register, and sit again every five years to stay on it. It covers core domestic gas safety (CCN1) and boilers and water heaters (CENWAT): 659 questions across 24 topics, from the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations and tightness testing to ventilation, flues, unsafe situations, condensate, controls and flue gas analysis.

Written from the regulations

The assessments need every answer right, so accuracy comes first. Each question is written from the regulations and standards themselves and names the document and clause it rests on, so you can check it for yourself. Answer one and it shows straight away which option was right, with an explanation and the document and clause to look it up in. On some questions there is a note on why a tempting wrong answer is wrong, or a tip for the job.

Questions on the law are written from official, publicly available government texts: the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 and the HSE’s L56 guidance on them, the Gas Safety (Management) Regulations 1996 and RIDDOR 2013. Questions on practice cite the British Standard or IGEM document and clause they rest on. No text from those documents is reproduced.

Practise your way

Pick a module, then a topic and a level, from foundations up to the tricky ones, and 10, 20 or 50 questions at a time, or all of them. Flag any question to come back to. Afterwards, go back over the ones you got wrong or flagged, review a session by all, correct, flagged or incorrect, and see your progress per module, kept from one session to the next.

Try it free

Download it free and try 15 questions from both modules, with every explanation and source in full. One in-app purchase unlocks every question, for good. There is no subscription, no account and no adverts, and it works offline.

It needs iOS 17 or later on iPhone and iPad, or Android 8.0 or later, and it is on both stores in the UK.

Zero Drop is a study aid, not proof of competence. It is independent and unofficial, and not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Gas Safe Register, the Health and Safety Executive, IGEM, BSI or any ACS certification body or assessment centre.

Questions, or something not working? Email support@appyappster.com and you will get an answer from the person who wrote the app. The privacy section for Zero Drop covers both versions.

Treadmill Smart Speed adds Just Run

Record a treadmill run on your phone alone, through a 3D park with a gate at every kilometre or mile. New in Treadmill Smart Speed, on iPhone and Android.

Treadmill Smart Speed has a second mode. Just Run records a treadmill run on your phone alone, with no Zwift, sensor or watch to connect. It is in version 3.1.0 on the App Store and version 1.1 on Google Play.

A park to run through

Choose Just Run at the bottom of the speed source list, set the speed to match the treadmill’s console, and start. A runner in orange, a man or a woman as you choose, runs along a path through a 3D park at the speed you set, and changes pace when you do, with the same buttons and presets as the rest of the app. If you would rather have the numbers alone, one tap puts the park away.

Every kilometre or mile has a gate. Run through it for your split, a tap and a burst of confetti.

Every run kept

Each run is kept on the phone with its time, distance and pace, and the last 50 are there to look back on. The distance is worked out from the speed you set, so the summary lets you enter the distance the treadmill showed at the end, and the run is matched to it. Then export the run as a TCX file, to share with another app or save. Delete any run you don’t want to keep.

Nothing to pair

Just Run uses no Bluetooth and asks for no permission. Its runs stay on your phone unless you export one. The privacy section for Treadmill Smart Speed covers Just Run on both versions.

Try it free

Just Run shares the free run with the rest of the app: every feature is free for a 10-minute run, with an hour between free runs, and a run is saved where the time ran out. One in-app purchase unlocks it for good. There is no subscription, no account and no adverts. If you bought the original paid iPhone app, Just Run is yours too, like everything else.

It needs iOS 17 or later on iPhone, or Android 14 or later.

Questions, or something not working? Email support@appyappster.com and you will get an answer from the person who wrote the app.

Treadmill Smart Speed 3.0 is on the App Store

Rebuilt from the ground up: your iPhone as a Bluetooth foot pod, with speed from the buttons, a Bluetooth treadmill, your arm or your Apple Watch. If you bought the original, it is still yours.

Treadmill Smart Speed 3.0 is out on the App Store, rebuilt from the ground up. It turns your iPhone into a Bluetooth running sensor, so Zwift, and other apps and watches that read a standard foot pod, see your treadmill’s speed and incline.

Made to be read mid-run

The speed you are sending fills the screen, big enough to read at arm’s length, and every control sits within reach of a thumb. The speed moves in steps of 0.1, six presets are a tap away, and holding a preset saves the speed you are running at. Speed and pace each have their own choice of metric or imperial.

Four ways to set the speed

Match the treadmill with the buttons, which works with any treadmill or walking pad. Or, if your treadmill already talks Bluetooth (FTMS, or an iConsole+ console), the app reads its speed and incline and passes them on for you; it only reads, and never changes the treadmill’s speed or incline. Or strap the iPhone to your arm and let its motion sensor estimate the speed. Or run with the Apple Watch app.

The Apple Watch app is back

The Watch app from the original carries over, working with the new app. It estimates your speed as you run, and now sends your heart rate to Zwift too, whichever way you are setting the speed.

Bought the original? It’s yours

If you bought the original paid app, everything in this version is free for you, for ever. There is no subscription and nothing to restore: it is recognised from your Apple Account, on any of your devices.

Try it free

For everyone else the app is now free to download. Every feature is free for a 10-minute run, and one in-app purchase unlocks it for good. There is no subscription, no account and no adverts.

It needs iOS 17 or later, and the Apple Watch app needs watchOS 9 or later. In Zwift, look for your iPhone under its own name: iOS doesn’t let an app change the name it is listed by. The app’s help walks through pairing.

Questions, or something not working? Email support@appyappster.com and you will get an answer from the person who wrote the app. The privacy section for Treadmill Smart Speed covers both versions.

The TAGB syllabus, organised by belt and available offline, is now on Google Play as well as the App Store.

TKD Guide is out on Android. It holds the TAGB syllabus — patterns, theory and Korean terminology — arranged by grade, so you only see what your next belt asks of you.

Everything is on the device, so it works in the dojang without a signal. There is no account and no sign-in, and nothing you do in the app leaves your phone.

It needs Android 8.0 or later, and it is the iPhone app feature for feature: the same 15 grades from 10th Kup white belt to 5th Dan, all 26 patterns move by move, 206 Korean terms filterable by belt, and the line work for every grade. It asks for no permissions at all, not even internet access.

TKD Quiz is there too

Its companion, TKD Quiz, holds 251 grading questions from white belt to red belt black tag, and is already on Google Play.

Practice questions for the police sergeants’ and inspectors’ legal exams, each answered in the law’s own words. Now on Google Play, with the iPhone version to follow.

Up the Ranks is out on Android. It is revision for the NPPF Step Two legal exam, the 150-question, closed-book paper for promotion to sergeant or inspector, with 1,146 questions covering every chapter of the 2027 syllabus: Crime, Evidence and Procedure, and General Police Duties.

The law’s own words

Every question is written independently from the law itself, checked word for word against the text it quotes. Answer one and it shows you which option was right, why each of the other three is wrong, and the passage of law it turns on, exactly as it is written, with its citation and a link to the official source.

The sources are primary law: Acts of Parliament on legislation.gov.uk, the PACE Codes of Practice, CPS charging guidance and Sentencing Council guidelines.

Practise your way

Choose the sergeants’ or the inspectors’ paper. Practise against the clock at 72 seconds a question, the pace of the published format, from 5 questions up to a full 150. Or take one chapter at a time, untimed. It works out your weakest chapters from your own answers, keeps your last 50 sessions, and lets you retry the questions you got wrong.

Try it free

Download it free and try 25 questions from across all three volumes, with every explanation and every source passage in full. One purchase unlocks the whole 2027 edition, for both papers and every 2027 sitting. There is no subscription, no account and no adverts, and it works offline.

It needs Android 8.0 or later and is on Google Play in the UK. The questions test the law of England and Wales, as the exam does. The iPhone version is on its way to the App Store.

Up the Ranks is independent and unofficial. It does not represent any government body, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the College of Policing, Oxford University Press or any police force.

Questions, or something not working? Email support@appyappster.com and you will get an answer from the person who wrote the app. The privacy section for Up the Ranks covers both versions.

Your phone as a Bluetooth foot pod, so Zwift sees your treadmill’s speed and incline. Now on Google Play.

Treadmill Smart Speed is out on Android. It turns your phone into a Bluetooth running sensor, so Zwift, and other apps and watches that read a standard foot pod, see your treadmill’s speed and incline. There is no pod to clip to your shoe and nothing to charge: stand the phone on the console and run.

Two ways to set the speed

Match the treadmill by hand. The speed moves in steps of 0.1, six presets are a tap away mid-stride, and holding a preset saves the speed you are running at. That works with any treadmill or walking pad, however basic.

Or, if your treadmill already talks Bluetooth (FTMS, or an iConsole+ console), the app reads its speed and incline and passes them on for you. It only reads: it never changes the treadmill’s speed or incline.

Garmin watches too

A Garmin watch can use the phone as a foot pod, with three steps first: pair the watch with this phone, restart the watch once after pairing, and turn off its phone connection for the run. The app’s help walks through each one.

Try it free

Every feature is free for a 10-minute run, and one in-app purchase unlocks it for good. There is no subscription, no account and no adverts.

It needs Android 14 or later, and a phone whose Bluetooth can act as a sensor; the app tells you if yours can’t. It asks for Nearby devices, to broadcast and to find a Bluetooth treadmill, and for notifications, to show that it is running.

Questions, or something not working? Email support@appyappster.com and you will get an answer from the person who wrote the app. The privacy section for Treadmill Smart Speed covers both versions.

251 TAGB grading questions, white belt to red belt black tag, scored per grade. Now on Google Play as well as the App Store.

TKD Quiz is out on Android. It holds 251 grading questions from the TAGB syllabus, covering every colour belt from 10th Kup white belt to 1st Kup red belt black tag.

Pick a belt range and how long you want the quiz to be, and it scores you grade by grade. Every question you got wrong comes back at the end, so you know exactly what to go and learn before the examiner asks it.

It needs Android 8.0 or later. There is no account and no sign-in, and the app asks for no permissions at all, not even internet access. Your last 50 results are kept on your phone and go nowhere else.
